The After-School Martial Arts Program "Overview" 

The Han Guek Kwan Martial Arts After-School Program runs each Monday through Friday for all school days with regular dismissal times.  Program pick up time is by 5:30 p.m. at the Han Guek Kwan.  Program includes transportation, a snack, homework help, a Martial Arts class and more. 

The Han Guek Kwan provides one uniform, for each child, which will be laundered weekly, or as needed, as an additional service to you, providing the student with a clean uniform for each week. (One less thing for you to have to think about.)

Here are the tuition and day options: The first price is for those who register and pay the deposit by August 1st.

1 Day per week: $150 per month (See footnote #3)
2 Days per week: (Mondays & Wednesdays) $225 per month (See footnote #1)
2 Days per week: (Tuesdays & Thursdays) $225 per month (See footnote #1)
3 Days per week: (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays)  $300 per month  (See footnote #2)
3 Days per week: (Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays): $300 per month  (See footnote #2)
4 Days per week: (Mondays, through Thursdays): $375
5 Days per week: (Mondays through Fridays) $425 per month (See footnote #3)

Footnote #1: For an additional $0 per month, your child may attend the Saturday classes, 10-11 o'clock, but transportation is not provided.

Also, 75% discount for each additional member in the same (immediate) family from the same school.

Priority is given to students participating more days per week.

Tuition is submitted by the 1st of year month for the 2008-9 school year with a "school year contract" (an agreement that your child will attend during the full school year) or 150% of the above prices, per month for our month-by-month option.  Tuition has been calculated to accommodate all Holidays, early dismissals, vacations and snow days. 

Tuition Penalties: Tuition amount, shown above, reflects “on time” pick up of child(ren).  “On time” pick up means by 5:30 p.m.  Parents are allowed one “late pick-up,” defined as picking up your child(ren) up to 15 minutes late, once per calendar month, without penalty.  Nonpayment of penalty and/or insufficient deposit credit remaining will result in termination of program participation. 

Days with early dismissal, scheduled or unscheduled, and Holidays you (the parent/guardian) are responsible for your child(ren)’s pick up from their academic school and there will be no After School Martial Arts Program at the Han Guek Kwan for that day. 

PROGRAM AGENDA:  Students will be given a play time/free time upon arrival. 

Play time is followed by “Homework Help.”  Your child(ren) may or may not finish all assigned homework in that period of time.  The Han Guek Kwan is not responsible for nor guarantees your child(ren)’s completed and/or correct homework.  However, the Han Guek Kwan will work diligently with your child to instill the importance of education, helping them to complete assigned tasks/homework and will endeavor to work diligently to assure academic success for your child(ren).  Students with little or no homework will be given grade level worksheets, activities or crafts during this time.

Homework Help is followed by  “snack time.” “Snack” is defined as food and food products including, but not limited to, milk, fruit juice, fruits, vegetables, crackers, cheese, peanut butter, bread products, pretzels, ham, turkey, applesauce, (a complete list will be given to you upon registration) and more; yet not a full meal.  It is your responsibility to notify the Han Guek Kwan of any new allergies or medical problems regarding food. 

Homework Help time is followed by time to change into their uniform and have "free/play time" before class.  Class begins at 4:15 and ends at 5:00.  Changing out of the uniforms at the end of class usually takes ~10-15 minutes.  You (the parent/guardian) are responsible for “On-Time” pick-up of your child(ren).
