The Han Guek Kwan (Korean School) was founded in 1993 by SahBohmNim Dayn La Rée in response to a growing demand in the area for top quality traditional TaeKwonDo instruction.

The Han Guek Kwan offers unlimited, flexible class schedules of morning, evening and weekend classes for ages 4-104 for all levels of ability. Separate classes are provided for beginning students to ensure proper orientation and skill progression. The Kwan is dedicated to the development and enhancement of the physical, mental and spiritual development of its students and the promotion of good health, sportsmanship, citizenship, prudence, courage and safety. We do not teach the "tough guy" attitude.

SahBohmNim Dayn La Rée nearly 30 years in the Martial Arts, holds a fifth-degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo, certified by the World TaeKwonDo Federation, at the Kukkiwon, Seoul, Korea, Certified personal Trainer (AFAA), Black Belt in Goju-ryu Karate, recipient of the SahBohmNim of year award presented by the United States TaeKwonDo Instructors' Union, international competitor, gold medal winner in poomse (forms) and bronze medal winner in Kyoroogi (sparring) at the World TaeKwonDo Festival and Korea Open in South Korea, instructor for four years at Ancestors High School, founder and operator of the Han Guek Kwan (Korean School), USTU Certified Referee, member of the World TaeKwonDo Federation, the United States TaeKwonDo Union and the National Association of Professional Martial Artists.

SahBohmNim La Rée is well-known and highly regarded by the TaeKwonDo community. She is recognized by her fellow instructors as an instructor of great integrity and dedication. SahBohmNim La Rée humbly considers herself to still be a student of her beloved art. Teaching with kindness and humor, this busy instructor finds time to give each student her individual attention and guidance. Training under SahBohmNim La Rée's direction proceeds in a supportive atmosphere of maximum effort and mutual respect. A natural leader through her own example of total commitment and hard work, those students fortunate enough to study with her agree that the value of her instruction extends far beyond the training hall. SahBohmNim La Rée is a student of Ninth-Degree GrandMaster Moo Yong Lee, one of the very few residing in the United States.

Although participating in tournaments is mandatory only once during training before Black Belt, many of the students choose to compete and put their skills to the test with others more often. Tournaments participated in include the US State Championships, the Presidents Cup, The United States Cup Championships, The United States TaeKwonDo Classic and many others, both invitational and open.

SahBohmNim La Rée herself competed most recently in August of 1999, in Seoul, South Korea at the Annual Korea Open. A four-day Martial Arts competition where members from thirty-nine nations competed in the Korean Martial Art form and Olympic event TaeKwonDo. SahBohmNim La Rée was one of the fourteen members, making up Team USA '99.

SahBohmNim. La Rée, won 1st place/Gold in forms (choreographed fight scenes), 3rd place/Bronze in sparring and placed 5th (among 20 men) in board breaking, representing 2 of the 4 medals Team USA brought home. Although she is proud of these accomplishments, sport Tae Kwon Do (tournaments) is not her primary focus.   She has since retired from international competition.

SahBohmNim La Rée has trained in Korea at the Kukkiwon, the headquarters of the World TaeKwonDo Federation, the only international organization authorized by the Korean government, the Olympic Committee and the Pan Am Games to control TaeKwonDo worldwide as well as other colleges and universities in Korea.
